Happy (blog) birthday to me!

Well today marks the day where I have been blogging for a year,the day where I took the jump and pressed that publish button for the first time - I haven't even looked back since. It's crazy to think that I have been blogging for only a year now as it feels like forever.

I mainly started blogging a year ago purely out of boredom,giving myself something to do to keep my occupied (and to cut down on my netflix marathons) Inspired by all of the blogs that I read daily I decided to take the jump,to keep a track of my life and hopefully it would make me do more interesting things in the process.So far blogging has far succeeded my expectations and I have had a truly wonderful year.

Since the 7th of february 2015 it has been a complete rollercoaster - there has been ups and downs as well as many trials and triumps - which I have documented many along the way.

I would like to say a massive thank you to every single one of you for making this such a welcoming and safe place for me to share my thoughts and little moments of my life.I know that sometimes when you blog it can be so easy to make it look like your life is all happy,but blogging has actually helped my life 'behind the scenes' to feel a lot better.Looking back at the year and seeing how many people take time out of their day to come and read what I have to say make me feel overwhelmed and I do love every single one of you.Thank you for all the lovely comments I have recieved, I promise I have read and responded to every one - I'm 99% sure I have. All of your lovely comments motivate me to keep going so thank you.

It is amazing with how many opportunities blogging has brought me and how many amazing people I have met through blogging and I'm so happy that I can call the close friends and to be able to have a netflix and Ben & Jerrys ice cream marathon with them (Lauren i'm looking at you) But,blogging for me was never about get offers to be able to work with companies or how many views I get - it was always to connect with people and to be able to help someone, I set out saying "even if I only help one person,it's worth it" and I was so right,when someone says you've helped them you get the best feeling in the world and you feel like you have actually made a difference.Not only do I feel as if I'm making a difference,however small, I feel like i'm part of an amazing supportive community and we all take care of each other. It is so lovely with how much support I have recieved from friends and fellow bloggers over the past year - I love you all lots.

It is so crazy to think I have achieved all this from sitting at home in my bed with my cup of tea - when I look back to my first post and then to my more recent ones I feel proud and feel that my writing and photoraphy skills have improved a little (my first post was dreadful ) One day I would love to be running Sophie Jane full time and have the flexibility of working for myself as I do really love my blog - who knows,but it's a dream worth dreaming of.

So here we are one year on and all I can say is that I love you all to pieces and taking the plunge to start a blog was one of the best decisions I have ever made - it has brought more happiness and joy into my life than ever imaginable, and I really cannot wait to see what happens on here between now and the 7th of february 2017.Whatever it is i'm sure the rollercoaster ride will always continue to unfold,but I hope that you will all want to come with me,every step of the way.
